Depends on the people who visit your home, you hide some things.Not only stuff but also everybody has some things in the mind or heart. Especially, women's heart is like the sea, they can hide everything inside as deep as the sea. As shown above, hiding is normal human instinct.
First of all, what I don't want to show to visiters is commonly "rubers". Guys don't care about porn books or videos. But if I let it put outside of my desk, I am interfered by friends and also girls are afraid to come my home again. So just keep it somewhere if someone come to visit.
Secound of all, weapons, normally someone who has weapons in the house is abnormal but in order to practice my martial arts those are necessary for me. Yet, that makes visiters feel dangerous because it seems weird. Moreover, come tomy house and hurt your self is dishonorable for visiters. To sum up, I don't hide any weapons but that is necessary to put away in the safety place.
Third of all, some girls, a landlord and sometimes guys don't like smoking in side the house. That's why I hide what I'm smoking as hiding an ashtray or spray around my room. In particular, business meetings are prohibited to smoke. Furthermore, girls don't like to smell cigarette from thire clothes.
In summary, I hide some stuff when visiters come for safety and not being rude, also disrespectful.

It is definitely a good idea to put weapons someplace safe. I know you wouldn't misuse your martial arts weapons, but someone could accidentally get hurt.
I tell myself it isn't bad to hide things because I am just trying to make my guest feel comfortable in my home. Or maybe I am just trying to make myself feel more comfortable when people come over.
Do you have weapons in your house too?
What you would hide are very good. We want to make people feel comfortable when they visit us. We certainly don't want to discourage people from coming to visit unless we don't like a certain person. What kind of weapons do you have? How dangerous are they? Some people have some kinds of weapons for decoration, but these weapons usually are not very dangerous because they have been modified. It sounds like your weapons are ready to be used.
Some weapons can use but in my opinion, weapons are just extention of my skill and arms. And everythings could be a weapon.For example, grabing a storn can kill people.What's important is not killing people, I desided to use my strengh for help.
